Dr. Schär at Annual State AND Meetings

Conference
Here at Dr. Schär, we always attempt to attend as many state AND meetings as we can. But with 50 states and almost as many local AND meetings all scheduled over the period of 3 months, we can’t possibly attend them all.
This year we’ve picked a few local state AND meetings to attend in person. Most of these are conveniently located in relatively close proximity to our U.S. headquarters in Lyndhurst, N.J.  In April, we attended PA and CT meetings, and in May we’re attending the NJ AND meeting. However, we also showcased our gluten-free products and Dr. Schar Institute (DSI) free resources for health professionals (HCPs) working with gluten-free patients and clients at the TX annual AND meeting in Houston in mid-April.

Although not local to us, TX AND meeting organizers gave us an opportunity to raise awareness about celiac disease (CD) and non-celiac gluten sensitivity (NCGS), especially in IBS patients. Our in-house dietitian who specializes in gluten-related conditions and has been diagnosed with CD herself, gave an hour-long speech on NCGS in IBS patients. As it often happens, Dr. Schar sponsored educational session was the only session dedicated to gluten-related health conditions during the 3-day event.

The feedback we’ve received from Texas dietitians confirmed that the number of gluten-free patients and/or clients has been steadily growing over the years, in all settings of dietetic practice. However, the number of educational opportunities on same the topic doesn’t seem to increase respectively.  This is why we here at DSI are always available to support local and national organizations and HCPs in raising CD and NCGS diagnosis and awareness.

Please reach out to us at info@schar.com, should you wish for Dr. Schar to attend any of your events to help us provide education and support to HCPs who work with CD and NCGS patients.
