Indulge in Gluten-Free This Summer

Most Dietitians working with gluten-free clients and patients are familiar with and recommend Schär products, especially our Artisan Baker sliced breads and ciabatta rolls that we’re the most known for. However, these bestsellers often overshadow our choice of seasonal products such as hamburger and hot-dog buns.
As most of our breads, Schär hamburger and hot-dog buns are made in our gluten- and dairy-free bakery in South Jersey. This facility is not only entirely gluten- and dairy-free, but we also test all raw ingredients entering the bakery, all breads throughout the entire production process, and even the packaging for gluten and dairy. We never use eggs or egg products at this facility either. But we don’t test for eggs. These breads are safe for people on the gluten-free diet and with dairy allergies, however we don’t recommend if for those with severe egg allergy.
Schär hamburger and hot-dog buns can be found in a gluten-free aisle. Your gluten-free clients won’t find these in a freezer. As with all our breads, we use a modified atmosphere packaging, allowing the product to remain fresh unopened for 4 months from the production date, with no preservatives. These can be safely frozen if needed, however we don’t recommend it for quality reasons.
Our hamburger and hot-dog buns are not only certified gluten- and dairy-free but they’re also an excellent source of many nutrients that people on the gluten-free diet can be deficient in. For example, our hamburger buns are an excellent source of thiamin and riboflavin. They’re also a good source of fiber, calcium, iron, and niacin.
Whether toasted right on the grill or eaten straight out of the package, our seasonal buns are a great addition to any outdoors summer party or event. These buns can also be used to make mini pizzas. Just spread tomato sauce, sprinkle it with cheese, and let it sit on the grill or a frying pan till the cheese melts. Or the super quick way: pre-toast it, top it with the sauce and cheese, and pop it into a microwave for up to 30 seconds.
